Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt will soon be out on a 30-day parole.
The actor had applied for the parole in June for his daughter's nose surgery, but the Pune divisional commissioner accepted his request recently, according to a Hindustan Times report.
The report also suggests that the 30-day parole can be extended for 60 more days and if that happens, Sanjay will be able to spend time with his family for three months.
"We have been informed that the Pune divisional commissioner has approved the parole application and Dutt will be out after completing the formalities," Vijay Satbir Sigh, principal secretary, (home) told HT.
This is not the first time the Bollywood actor has requested for parole. Sanjay was out on parole from December 2013 till March 2014. In December 2014, he came out on furlough for 14 days.
Earlier this year, Sanjay appealed for extension of his furlough by 14 days, but the Maharashtra government rejected his request and he surrendered on 10 January.
Sanjay was convicted in 2013 and was sentenced to five years in jail for illegal possession of a pistol and a rifle during the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
