One of Indian cinema's greatest superstars, Rajesh Khanna, is reportedly unwell at his home in Mumbai and has stopped intake of food for the past three to four days, his manager Ashwin said.
According to reports, his health has started deteriorating a lot and he has become very weak. But his manager has not yet confirmed whether the actor will be admitted to a hospital or not.
"Rajeshji is not well and has stopped eating food from the past few days. He is not able to have his food it's not going into his mouth," Ashwin said.
Since the time he has fallen ill, his estranged wife and Bollywood actress, Dimple Kapadia, is constantly staying by his bedside. Dimple visits him every day at his home 'Ashirwad' on Mumbai's Carter Road in the afternoon at around 1.30 pm and stays there until 10 pm.
"Dimple arrives at Kakaji's (as Khanna is fondly called) place around 1.30 pm and does not leave before 10 pm. It is physically daunting for Dimple, but it is clear she still cares for Rajesh a lot," The Times of India reported quoting Khanna's friend.
Due to his critical condition his younger daughter Rinke Khanna, who is in Kolkata, is expected to fly down to be with him. His elder daughter Twinkle Khanna, who is expecting her second child was spotted offering prayers at a gurudwara with husband Akshay Kumar and son Aarav.
Rajesh Khanna or Kaka, called by his friends, was hospitalized in April at Lilavati Hospital following uneasiness back then.
The veteran actor recently endorsed a television ad, which was shot by adman-turned-filmmaker R Balki. He brought a BMW for daughter Rinke as a gift from the money he earned from the ad.
Khanna, who is considered as the first superstar of Hindi cinema, has acted in more than 150 films. He ruled the Hindi cinema in the 1960s and 70s with films like "Raaz", "Do Raaste", "Bawarchi", "Anand" and "Aradhana."
