Veteran actor Mukesh Rawal, best remembered for his portrayal of Vibhishan in popular mythological show Ramayan, was found dead on Wednesday, November 16.
The actor's body was found on railway tracks between Borivali and Kandivali railway stations in Mumbai, PTI reported. The 66-year-old actor was apparently run over by a train while he was on his way to a dubbing session for a Gujarati film.
Rawal's body was found at 9:33 am on Wednesday, but was only identified by the actor's kin on Thursday morning, when his family filed a missing complaint, Niket Kaushik, commissioner of Railway Police, told PTI.
"Initially, we could not find anything on the body to identify. Railway Police had issued his photographs at all police stations. His son-in-law came at the Kandivali railway station in search of Rawal, who had gone missing. The officials sent him to a hospital where he identified the body," he added.
It is being speculated that Rawal may have committed suicide.
Besides Ramayana, Rawal had also been part of several Gujarati films and television serials. He was currently working in the Gujarati TV serial, Nass Nass Mei Khunnas.
