Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has got a new admirer in Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger who has fallen for Modi's "revolutionary" ideas, particularly the one implemented in Gujarat to cover canals with solar panels.
Praising Modi for bringing solar revolution during his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister, Schwarzenegger said, "I thank Prime Minister Modi for all works he is doing. I have been admiring him since he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat which I heard is California of India. And he has created some very good actions in Gujarat."
"Under the Prime Minister's leadership, the state of Gujarat had brilliant idea to cover its canals with solar panels. Now the central government here wants to cover over 1,000 miles of canals to generate thousands of MW of clean energy," DeshGujarat quoted Schwarzenegger as saying.
"The Terminator" actor was attending the 15th Delhi Sustainable Development Summit – TERI's annual event, when he praised the leadership of Modi in Gujarat and said he hopes the same from him as the leader of the nation, according to IBNLive report.
"My dream is that he continues with the environmental kind of mentality since he is now the national leader and also come with us to Paris to the negotiations because he is really the great hope. I have admired him and I hope he will continue that way as he has done in the past," Schwarzenegger said.
