Abhishek Kapoor's much anticipated film, "Fitoor", starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Katrina Kaif has added another star in its cast.
Reportedly, Ajay Devgn has been approached to do a cameo role in the film that also stars Rekha in an important role.
"Ajay responded with interest to Gattu's (as the director is fondly called) narration and gave his verbal consent, but hasn't signed the film yet," a source close to the unit told Mumbai Mirror.
Although, the "Singham Returns" actor will be seen playing a cameo, his character of Muazzam will hold an important role in the film.
Moreover, Devgn will be seen in the first half of the film and most of his scenes will be with the film's lead actor Aditya.
"Ajay's role is a cameo, but a very important one, most of his scenes will be in the first half of the film," the source added.
"Fitoor" is the Indian adaptation of Charles Dickens' novel "Great Expectations". While versatile actress Rekha will be playing a character with grey shades, Aditya will be portraying the role of a Kashmiri lad, Noor, and the "Bang Bang" actress as his lady love, Firdaus.
The first schedule of the movie was supposed to kick off in Kashmir, but as flood hit the region, the shooting has now been rescheduled to Mumbai.
Backed by UTV Motion Pictures, the "Kai Po Che" director had earlier roped in Sushant Singh Rajput to play the male lead, but the actor opted out of the film citing date issues, which then rolled on to the "Aashiqui 2" star.
Meanwhile, Devgn will be next seen in Prabhu Deva's "Action Jackson" opposite Sonakshi Sinha. The film has already created a buzz among the movie-goers with its recently released trailer and the song "Keeda". "Action Jackson" is slated to release worldwide on 5 December.
