Ajay Devgn starrer "Action Jackson" opening day collection will not be as big as his last release "Singham Returns", but it will certainly break records of films, including "Humshakals" and "Ek Villain".
The action thriller film directed by Prabhu Deva features Ajay, Sonakshi Sinha and Yami Gautam in lead roles. The film released on Friday in approximately 3500 screens worldwide.
"Action Jackson" received negative reviews from critics, but due to pre release buzz, the film registered decent occupancy in morning shows. Considering the morning shows occupancy in theaters across the country, the film's opening day collection is expected to be ₹12+ crore.
Action films starring big stars in lead usually work in India and given that it is Prabhu Deva's directorial film, "Action Jackson" would have a decent day one earning.
It is also expected to generate good footfalls over the weekend and take its overall box office income to ₹35+ crore.
Trade experts are of the opinion that since none of the movies worked in November, "Action Jackson" would take a flying start.
"The film looks good and the songs are also very catchy. Since nothing worked out in November, this film will definitely take a gigantic opening and will be followed by a bumper weekend. It's a Prabhu Dheva film and all his films are entertaining," Box Office quoted Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines as saying.
Sanjay Ghai of Mukta Arts said that "Action Jackson" might fetch in ₹15 crore on day one.
"This film will heal the wounds of all exhibitors, who underwent a dry spell last month. In spite of releasing on a non-holiday, Action Jackson will earn Rs 15 crore on day one," Ghai said, according to Box Office.
