Actor Salman Khan will play a superhero with special powers in his upcoming film, "Sher Khan" directed by his younger brother Sohail Khan.
What is interesting is Sallu bhai is likely to have long locks in the movie and his magical powers will rest on his shoulder-length tresses. According to reports, Salman Khan will be sporting a different look from his other films.
Dilip Shukla, who has been writing the script for "Dabaang 2", and Rumi Jaffrey will be writing and designing the superhero flick. The film is said to be different from other Hollywood superhero flicks like "Superman" and "Spiderman" and is aimed at attracting children.
"Though he has had a massive fan following among kids, none of Salman bhai's films have been specially targeted at children. Dilip Shukla and I are designing bhai's first film aimed at the young viewers," Rumi told Times of India.
"He will be a hero that kids can identify with. The action scenes won't have him beating up a dozen goons single-handedly. He has done these things many times before," he added.
According to reports, Salman will learn a popular south Indian martial art to perform action scenes in the movie. The film's leading lady has not yet been finalized, but the buzz is that the heroine would most probably be a new comer.
Work on "Sher Khan" will begin after Salman completes his other film "Dabanng 2" by his brother Arbaaz Khan. "Sher Khan" may go on floors in October. Salman is currently working with Katrina Kaif in "Ek Tha Tiger", which is expected to hit the theatres on August 17 (EID).
Salman's transformation from a lover boy to an action hero has been amazing. Starting with "Maine Pyar Kiya" (1989), the actor has come a long way in the industry and has donned varied roles.
In recent times, Salman has turned himself into a successful action-hero by doing several cop-related action films. The actor has been fortunate that all his recent films have had a great run at the box office.
After the super-duper hit film "Wanted" in which he played a cop in disguise, he followed it up with another cop role in "Dabaang." His fans loved every inch of his cop character in the film.
Then released "Bodyguard" where he essayed the role of a bodyguard of a rich girl played by Kareena Kapoor. In his upcoming film "Ek Tha Tiger," Salman is said to be playing the role of a secret agent.
And now with "Sher Khan," he is going a step further and turning himself from an action hero into a superhero. Let's hope this "Sher" roars at the box office.
