Technology major Acer expanded its Liquid smatphone portfolio with the announcement of the E2 smartphone.

The company announced the launch of its latest addition to the Liquid series on Thursday. The Liquid E2 smartphone, the successor to the Liquid E1, sports a 4.5-inch qHD display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. According to reports, the smartphone will be released in Belgium, Netherlands, Ukraine, France, followed by Spain, UK, Italy, Germany and Russia in mid-May for an expected price of 229 Euros. The phone will be available in Rock Black and Classic White.

The phone runs on runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and packs an 8-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and BSI sensor, and a 2-megapixel front -facing camera. The handset has 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory which is expandable through a microSD card slot. It packs 2000mAh battery which the company claims to to deliver a talk time of nine hours and standby time of up to 450 hours.

There is no information available about the launch of the phone in India .However, IndiaTV news reported that the phone is likely to be released in the subcontinent in June with a price tag of ₹14,000.

"The handset will possibly launch in India in June in the price range of ₹14,000. Such a price point would be perfect for those who want to migrate from dual-core to quad-core handsets," stated the news website.
