Taiwanese electronics major Acer on Monday (3 June) showcased the world's first 8.0-inch Windows based tablet PC, Iconia W3, at the ongoing international IT trade fair Computex in Taipei.
Acer's mini wonder, Iconia W3, sports an 8.1-inch LED-backlit WXGA multi-touch LCD screen with 1280x768p resolution and it ships with fully loaded Windows 8 Pro OS powered by a 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z2760 dual-core processor with 2GB RAM. The tablet comes in two variants based on memory - 32GB and 64GB.
The New Acer tablet also comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 software which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote applications.
Acer is reportedly planning to retail Iconia W3 for 329 euros (32GB) and 379 euros (64GB). But the company fails to name the markets where it was planning to release the new Windows tablet PC.
