Acer has launched two Android-powered smartphone Acer Liquid E700 and Acer Liquid Jade in India under their Liquid series smartphones.
For your information, this is not the first time that Acer is trying their luck in the most lucrative smartphone market; They have launched a few Android phones earlier and stopped later for some unknown reason. But to make sure they added some sensible features, which will make the consumer think before choosing any substitutes.
In this article we will discuss those key features in detail. Though Acer launched two phones with different target audience, we will discuss about Acer Liquid E700 here which is priced at Rs. 11,999 and expected to fight closely with the Xiaomi, Huawei, ASUS, Lenovo, Gionee and Microsoft phones in the same price range.
Connectivity
Opting for the right network is a major concern in countries like India, where a wide variety of network operators offer different tariffs. That is why a large number of consumers prefer a mobile phone with more than one SIM card so that they can opt for the right schemes at a point of time.
Though there are hundreds of budget smartphone offering dual SIM capability, most of them offers single slot with 3G connectivity. Happily, Acer is offering all three SIM card slots with 3G capability. People might question whether featuring three SIM slots is a gimmick, but may be they would love to use all the slots in the future.
Hardware
The Android smartphone theory "Higher is always better" is applicable here as well. Acer Liquid E700 has been powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-Core Mediatek MT6582 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built memory. The two close competitors of Liquid A700, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and XOLO Omega features 1.4GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 and 1.7GHz Octa-Core Mediatek processor. But in RAM specification, only Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G stands equal by featuring same amount of RAM while both of them trails in the in-built storage specification by sporting only 8GB of ROM.
Battery
Acer Liquid A700, the triple SIM Android smartphone supports 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 along with a battery worth 3,500mAh.
Acer has also acted clever by choosing a not-so-high range processor. This decision might result slight visible lag to the user but a marathon battery life in a budget price is seriously considered one of the most-sought-after user requirement in the country.
With a claimed battery life of 1,440 hours of stand-by time and 24 hours of talk time, A700 might create a huge fan following for this single reason.
Selfie
The Acer Liquid A700 features an 8mp of rear camera and a 2mp front camera, while its biggest competitor Xiaomi Redmi Note features a 13mp rear camera and a 5mp front camera. But the A700 features one clever feature what others don't; a LED flash on the front. The front LED flash may help the users to take selfies in the dark.
Price & Availability
Built on Android Kitkat 4.4 platform, the Acer Liquid A700 is available in India for ₹11,999 through one of the biggest e-retailers of India, Snapdeal. Manufacturers like Xiaomi, OnePlus, ASUS and Huawei have experienced good selling revenues by launching their products via e-retailers. And following the same trick, Acer has tied up with one of the biggest e-commerce provider Snapdeal for its marketing.
Taking advantage of Snapdeal's online presence in around 5,000 pin code locations and 200 offline stores, Acer Liquid E700 is expected to get a decent response in its segment.
