The makers of The Accidental Prime Minister, starring Anupam Kher as former PM Dr Manmohan Singh, have released the first look poster of the movie.
The poster looks impressive as Anupam appears to be a lookalike of Singh. The poster also gives a glimpse of Sonia Gandhi's character. Based on Sanjaya Baru's book by the same name, The Accidental Prime Minister will apparently showcase the former PM's ups and downs during his tenure.
Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, the film is believed to reveal some unknown aspects of Singh's journey as the PM. Kher shared the poster on Twitter with the caption saying, "To reinvent yourself as an actor is to challenge yourself. Looking forward to portraying #DrManmohanSingh in #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister."
Meanwhile, a series of reactions started pouring in on the micro-blogging site. While some have been talking about the uncanny resemblance of Kher's look with Singh, some others are expecting to witness some interesting twists and turns that happened in Indian politics in the movie.

Some others are also making some sarcastic tweets about Singh being the "silent PM." There are also a few Dr Manmohan Singh supporters who are expressing displeasure at the title of the film.
There are also reports saying that the makers of The Accidental Prime Minister will have to get a No Objection Certificate from Singh and Sonia Gandhi before the release of the film. Kher is a strong Narendra Modi supporter, and he had criticised the former PM several times in the past.
In such a scenario, it will be interesting to see how The Accidental Prime Minister will portray Singh and the Congress party in general. The film is slated to be released towards the end of 2018. Check some of the Twitter reactions:
#TheAccidentalPrimeMinister should have been called The Accidentally Mute PM
