The Border Security Force (BSF) found an abandoned Pakistani fishing boat in the Indian territory near Koteshwar in Kutch, a day ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's three-day visit for a conference.
The senior BSF officials in Gujarat said that a patrol party found the fishing boats on Wednesday night while patrolling the Koteshwar Border Out Post, according to a PTI report.
They suspect that those who were on the abandoned boat had fled in other boats. An investigation has been initiated into the incident.
Although nothing suspicious has been found in the 15-feet long boat, the security officials are concerned as the boat was found much inside the Indian waters.
The incident comes a day before Modi's visit to Kutch district of Gujarat from 18 to 20 December. He will arrive in Bhuj on 18 December, and also meet Chief Minister Anandiben Patel.
The Prime Minister will then head to Dhordo where he will attend the Conference of Directors General of Police.
