The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to hear the plea seeking to annul the warrant against Nupur Talwar, who was reportedly absconding, sources said. The apex court will take up the hearing on Nupur's plea on Friday.
Nupur Talwar is on run as the CBI is conducting raids with a non-bailable warrant issued in her name.
A non-bailable warrant was issued against her after Nupur Talwar breached the deadline set by a special CBI court to appear before it. As Nupur snubbed the judiciary and gave a miss to the Wednesday's hearing, the court that was trying the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case dashed off a warrant considering the CBI's request.
However, in an unexpected turn of events, Nupur and her husband Rajesh Talwar were reportedly missing during the CBI raids.
The CBI sources said that there was no information about the couple's whereabouts.
In the last hearing, the CBI accused that the dentist couple destroyed the evidence regarding the case and sought Nupur's judicial custody.
On Wednesday, Nupur's lawyer sought the court to exempt her from appearing as the plea against the apex court's order to face trial is still pending. The plea of Talwars would come for hearing at the apex court on April 27. But Rajesh Talwar was present during the hearing. Rajesh is out on conditional bail till May 7.
A Ghaziabad court refused to buy the arguments on Nupur's missing.
In 2008, Aarushi, a 14-year-old girl, was found dead in her bedroom at her residence in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, with her throat slit. Hours later, another dead body was found on the terrace, which was identified as that of Talwars' servant Hemraj.
Since the beginning of the CBI investigation into the 4-year-old double murder case, the probing authorities have maintained Rajesh and Nupur, parents of Aarushi, as the prime suspects.
