The "Aankhen" sequel is all set to be rolled out this year and International Business Times India has learnt that it will feature an ensemble cast. Except for Amitabh Bachchan, no other lead actors of the original movie will star in "Aankhen 2."
"In the sequel, Big B, Shahid Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Anil Kapoor will be seen in the lead roles," a source told IBT. It will be interesting to see these top actors together in a film, that is being produced by Gaurang Doshi. In fact, John Abraham's name was also doing the rounds.
The second instalment is set to go on floors 14 years after the Vipul Shah directorial, which was about a bunch of blind men who were trained to rob a bank, hit the screens. However, "Aankhen 2" will be directed by Anees Bazmee, who had earlier said that without Amitabh the sequel could not be made. The team of "Aankhen 2" has, however, not made an official announcement.
"Aankhen 2" has a strong cast, which will bring Katrina and Big B together for a third time, after "Boom" and "Sarkar." Also, this will be the first time that Katrina and Shahid will share screen space.
The first instalment, "Aankhen," featured Big B, Akshay Kumar, Sushmita Sen, Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Bipasha Basu.
Meanwhile, Big B is currently busy with Ribhu Dasgupta's "Te3n" and he may start shooting for "Aankhen 2" after completing his existing projects. On the other hand, Shahid is busy with Vishal Bhardwaj's "Rangoon" and he will next be seen in "Udta Punjab" as well. And, Katrina is shooting for "Baar Baar Dekho" opposite Sidharth Malhotra and "Jagga Jasoos" alongside ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.
