Vijay Sethupathi seems to have a winner in hand again as his latest film Aandavan Kattalai is showing signs of turning as a hit at the box office. The Kollywood film, which was released on September 23, is performing well at the collection centres in Tamil Nadu.
Aandavan Kattalai saw the light of the day in over 275 screens and it had opened to highly positive reviews. Looking at the good word-of-mouth, many exhibitors came forward to screen the film and the screen count has now crossed 290.
The interesting part of its success story is that Aandavan Kattalai is enjoying a superb response in the 'B' centres and the film has registered an earth-shattering 90-100 percent occupancies on the weekdays.
With no film to give competition for the next seven days, Aandavan Kattalai is expected to do fantastic business. However, the makers are yet to open up on the collection made by the flick, although there are reports of the film doing close to Rs 15 crore till date in the state.
The film has also done well in the overseas centres, including in the US where it has earned Rs 20.34 lakh in its first weekend.
Aandavan Kattalai is written and directed by Manikandan and produced by GN Anbu Chezhiyan. Ritika Singh has played the female lead in the flick, which has Pooja Devariya, Nassar, Yogi Babu and others in the cast.
