Aamir Khan-starrer "Dangal" has become the most awaited Bollywood movie, according to a monthly survey, beating Shah Rukh Khan's "Raees." While the Aamir-starrer will be released in Dec. 23, 2016, "Raees" will hit the screens in Jan. 26, 2017.
In the survey titled "Ormax Cinematix" conducted by Ormax Media this month, "Dangal" has topped the list of most awaited Hindi movies. The list ranks the top five most awaited Bollywood movies of 2016-2017. The survey result includes movies whose main trailers are yet to be released. Based on public opinion, the survey highlights the audience's intent to watch a film, taking four parameters into consideration — buzz, reach, appeal and interest.
"Dangal" came up as the most anticipated Bollywood movie, followed by Shah Rukh's "Raees." The biopic on MS Dhoni, titled "MS Dhoni: The Untold Story," appears third in the list of most anticipated Hindi movies. The biopic will be released on Sep. 30, 2016.
Hrithik-Roshan starrer "Kaabil and Ranveer Singh's "Befikre" secured the fourth and fifth slots, respectively, in the list. "Kaabil" is expected to lock horns with "Raees" on Jan. 26, 2017 while "Befikre" will be released on Dec. 9, 2016.
"Raees" was earlier supposed to be released alongside "Sultan" on Eid 2016 but the former was postponed to avoid a clash with the Salman Khan-starrer. Now, Shah Rukh will fight with Hrithik at the box office as "Raees" and "Kaabil" are slated to be released on the same date. However, SRK and the makers of "Raees" have been having discussions with producers of "Kaabil" to come to an amicable decision to avoid the clash.
Aamir plays the real life character of wrestler Mahaveer Phogat in "Dangal." The actor had undergone tremendous physical transformation for the movie and fans are eagerly waiting to see the actor on the big screen.
