Aamir Khan is one such actor who has been away from award functions since over a decade now. However, the actor is now going to make an exception to his own rule.
Aamir will attend Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Awards where Mr Perfectionist will be honoured with "Vishesh Puraskar," according to DNA. Aamir will be given the award for his critically acclaimed performance in Dangal.
Meanwhile, fans were in a shock when they came to know that Dangal has not been nominated for the upcoming IIFA 2017 awards. However, it later turned out that the film missed the nominations due to the makers of Dangal themselves.
The makers of Aamir's 2016 blockbuster did not complete the formalities necessary to get into the nominations. "So basically, in IIFA, forms are sent to various production houses. They fill those forms up and send it back to us. Those forms are then put out to the industry for voting and from there it becomes a nomination," producer and creator of IIFA Andre Timmins had confirmed earlier.
Aamir will next be seen playing an extended cameo in the movie Secret Superstar that features Zaira Wasim. Zaira had played the character of younger Geeta Phogat in Dangal.
