After starring alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan in 'Thugs of Hindostan', the young actress has now been approached to play the female lead in a film starring Shah Rukh Khan. And if reports are to be believed, Kareena Kapoor was earlier considered for the role but Aamir Khan suggested Fatima's name for the part.
As per a report in Times Now, Aamir Khan was the first contender for the role but owing to date clashes, he suggested Shah Rukh Khan's name for the film. Fatima had recently spoken about how she is a great admirer of Shah Rukh Khan and being around him makes her nervous.
Aamir Khan and Fatima Sana Shaikh's master-protégé relationship is widely talked about and hence it didn't come as a surprise that Aamir would have recommended her for the role.
Shah Rukh Khan's much-anticipated film – Zero – directed by Anand L Rai, fell flat at the box-office. Starring Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, the film was panned both by the critics and the audience for its choppy edits and sloppy plot. There were reports of Shah Rukh Khan willing to start the shoot of his next earlier than planned owing to his series of flops this year. His previous films - 'Jab Harry Met Sejal' and 'Raees' too hadn't done exceptional work at the box office like his earlier films.
The film titled 'Salute', directed by Anurag Basu, will bring alive onscreen the life of Rakesh Sharma, an Indian Air Force officer who turned astronaut and travelled to space.
