The latest actor who is said to be joining hands with Shankar is none other than Kamal Haasan. Rumours are rife that the duo has teamed up after a long break, and is reportedly planning for a sequel to their blockbuster "Indian".
Buzz has it that Shankar has been keen to work with Kamal Haasan. The director had approached the actor to do the role of a baddie in "Enthiran 2" in which Rajinikanth would play the lead role. But the Universal Star had rejected the offer a few months ago for reasons known to him.
Now Shankar is said to have approached Kamal Haasan with the script of the sequel to "Indian". Talks are reportedly on and if the project goes through, the shooting will begin in 2016 as the actor is busy with other films this year.
Prior to these speculations, many names including Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth have done the rounds. While it was speculated that the project was a sequel to "Enthiran", nothing has been confirmed yet.
"Indian" was an anti-corruption movie where the hero turned vigilante to uproot corruption. Kamal Haasan was seen in dual roles of a father and a son with Manisha Koirala, Urmila Matondkar and Suganya planning important roles. It was simultaneously made in Hindi as "Hindustani", which was also a hit.
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan, who is gearing up for the release of his next movie "Papanasam", has started working on "Thoongavanam", which has Prakash Raj and Trisha Krishnan in the key roles.
