Nithin and Samantha's "A...Aa" has become one of the biggest Tollywood money spinners of 2016, by crossing Rs. 50 crore mark at the worldwide box office in the eight-day extended first week.
"A...Aa" witnessed decent hype and promotions, which helped it register good advance bookings for its opening day. The movie was premiered in hundreds of screens across North America on June 1 a day before its release. The film made a record breaking collection in the country and also garnered positive talk. The strong word-of-mouth got it thunderous opening everywhere on its first day.
The Trivikram Srinivas-directed romantic comedy film went on strength to strength over the weekend. "A...Aa" grossed Rs. 20.10 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and Rs. 18.05 in other parts of the globe in four days. The movie collected a total of Rs. 38.15 crore at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend and earned Rs. 26.68 crore for its global distributors.
The Nithin and Samantha starrer witnessed a dip in its collection on Monday and it maintained rock-steady on the following weekdays. "A...Aa" surpassed the Rs. 50 crore mark in the global market in six days. Film critic and trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai on June 8 tweeted, "#AAaMovie grosses worldwide RS 50 Cr +,big boost 2 Telugu non superstar films. Cheers #Trivikram & @Samanthaprabhu2."
"A...Aa" is estimated to have collected approximately Rs. 13.77 crore at the worldwide box office on the weekdays, taking its 8-day-first week total collection to Rs. 51.92 crore. The movie is estimated to have earned Rs. 35.48 crore to its global distributors, who have shelled out Rs. 30.50 crore on its theatrical rights. The film has recovered 100 percent of their investments and fetch good profit.
"A...Aa" has become the fourth highest earning Telugu film in the opening week in 2016 after "Sardaar Gabbar Singh," "Sarrainodu" and "Nannaku Prematho." The family entertainer has landed in the 10th place in the list of top 20 highest earning Tollywood movies of all time in the first week.
