Rumours floating around various aspects of an upcoming new mobile are not something new for the world.
One such speculation that was doing rounds on Tuesday was about Nokia 808 PureView's reportedly lower price in India, which is all set to hit the mobile stores soon.
According to a report by AndroSym, the much-anticipated imaging handset, with 41 megapixel camera and Puerview technology had been priced at INR 29,999 on Nokia India's online store, relatively lesser priced than its pre-booking price of Rs 40,000 announced by the company last month.
"Today we stumbled upon this rather little secret - Nokia India's online store has priced the 808 PureView at INR 29,999 (or 30,000 as a round figure). That's about $561 at the current exchange rate," reported AndroSym.
However, Nokia on Tuesday rubbished all reports on the speculated price of 808 PureView, while saying that it would announce the actual price on its product's website in next 15 days.
Commenting on this, Nokia spokesperson indicted the misinterpretation of source code on the website by the AndroSym's blogger for all sorts of confusions.
"We outsource certain chores, and for that we have to give price related information. So, in such cases, we furnish a dummy price, and not the actual (true) price. In this case also (the one mentioned in the source code), Rs 29,999 is a dummy price and the 808 Pureview will not be available for this price," the company spokesperson said.
Early this month Nokia formally announced that it will roll out its award-winning Nokia 808 Pureview in May in India and Russia.
Nokia 808 has bagged several awards at Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, including the best mobile device award as well as an award for best imaging innovation for 2012 from the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA).
The Nokia 808 promises a lofty camera experience for its users as it features a large, high-resolution 41 megapixel sensor with high-performance Carl Zeiss optics and new pixel oversampling technology.
With standard resolutions (2/3, 5 and 8 megapixels), this device will have the ability to zoom without loss of clarity and capture seven pixels of information, condensing into one pixel for the sharpest images.
The Nokia 808 PureView also has full HD 1080p video recording and playback with 4X lossless zoom.
The device boasts single core 1.3 GHz mobile processor, mainly focused on delivering rich camera experience, with 41 megapixel, 512 MB RAM and has 16GB of in-built memory and expandable up to 32 GB or 48 GB.
However, it is the price of the device that remains to be a little secret. Customers eagerly expecting the announcement of the price to plan your purchase have to wait for a while.
