Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor, who are the winners of the 64th National Film Awards, attended the presentation ceremony on May 3 in New Delhi along with their families.
Akshay, who won the Best Actor for Rustom and Best Hindi feature film (Special mention), was accompanied by wife Twinkle Khanna and son Aarav. The family arrived in traditional attires and was filled with joy when President Pranab Mukherjee felicitated the actor.
Akshay Kumar shared a picture of wife Twinkle and son Aarav all ready for the big day. "An important day in my life with the most important people in the world to me, my family #NationalFilmAwards," the actor tweeted.
The Airlift actor was trolled heavily when the announcement of him winning the National Award for Rustom was made. Twitterati claimed that Aamir Khan, should have bagged the award for Dangal. Many also questioned as to why Manoj Bajpayee's performance in Aligarh and Randeep Hooda's in Sarbjit were snubbed by the jury members of the National Award.
