A school bus has fallen into a canal in Maharashtra's Palghar district, injuring at least 49 students. The incident occurred at around 7 am on Tuesday, August 13.
The bus was going along the Pivli-Vada road when it skidded off the road. The driver had allegedly lost control of the vehicle when he swerved to avoid hitting a woman who came in front of the bus, according to a report.
Fortunately, no deaths have been reported at the time of filing the report. The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, a minor earthquake of magnitude 3.2 struck the Palghar region, 100 km from Mumbai. The incident took place at around 5:40 am. The epicentre was located at Dundalwadi village in Dahanu taluka.
