Jyothika starrer "36 Vayadhinile" aka "36 Vayathinile" has opened to positive reviews. The Tamil movie has also got a good opening at the box office.
The Tamil movie was released on Friday, 15 May. "36 Vayadhinile" was expected to have a low turnout of audience due to its woman-centric content, but the trade was great as the film got a good opening.
It is reported that the good word-of-mouth helped "36 Vayadhinile" get a flying start at the box office. Multiplexes registered above 70 percent occupancy in Chennai and a few other cities.
Talking about the opening, leading critic and trade tracker Sreedhar Pillai tweeted, "#36Vayadhinile #Rakki & #Vettri shifts it 2 their big screen 4 evening show & reports 80 to 85% collections.Great comeback by #Jo 2/2."
He added, "#36Vayadhinile - Surprises trade with good opening due 2 strong WOM. Collection Kings Ambattur #Rakki & Chrompet #Vettri shifts it ½." However, the exact collection made by the movie is yet to be revealed.
Following the encouraging response from audience and critics, it is predicted "36 Vayadhinile" will make fantastic business on Saturday and Sunday. The movie faced competition from "Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai", starring Arya, Vijay Sethupathi, Shaam, and Karthika Nair, which was also released on Friday.
"36 Vayadhinile" is the comeback movie of Jyothika after eight years. The Tamil film is directed by Roshan Andrrews. "36 Vayadhinile" narrates the coming-of-age story of housewife Vasanthi, who is considered as incapable of doing anything good by her family.
In the end, she rediscovers her identity and reaches the pinnacle of glory. She fights back after being ignored by her husband and people around her and achieves her goals.
