Jyothika starrer "36 Vayadhinile" aka "36 Vayathinile" is doing great business at the Tamil Nadu box office, hence the movie is being shifted to big screens from Friday, 22 May.
The movie opened to a positive start at the box office. Trade analysts were expecting a dip in collection after the first weekend, but "36 Vayadhinile" surprised them by steadily improving its business.
The biggest strength of "36 Vayadhinile" is the family and female audience, who are flocking to the theatres to watch the flick.
Trade analyst and critic Sreedhar Pillai highlighted the same on Twitter. He wrote, "Mid Week Box Office - #Jyothika's #36Vayadhinile is doing solid business, as lady audiences r loving it. Shifted 2 big screens in week 2."
The Tamil movie has earned about ₹7 crore so far from the Tamil box office. The traders are expecting the movie to make a lifetime collection of ₹18-20 crore. This is a huge amount for a Tamil movie that does not have any A-list actor in it.
"36 Vayadhinile" is made with a meagre budget and the makers are expecting to reap profits from the second week itself. And the satellite rights will be a bonus for the producer.
The film has faced competition from multi-starrer "Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai", which made ₹ 5.1 crore in the opening weekend itself. The film, starring Arya, Vijay Sethupathi, Shaam and Karthika Nair, has garnered positive reviews from audience and critics.
"36 Vayadhinile" is a remake of Malayalam hit film "How Old Are Youe". It is the comeback film of Jyothika after a gap of eight years. The movie is directed by Rosshan Andrrews and is produced by Gnanavel Raja.
