When 2NE1 singer CL announced in 2014 that she would release her debut American solo album, fans of the star were excited. Since then, they have been waiting with bated breath to witness CL's album launch.
Whether you are a Kpop fan or not, there are exciting collaborations in the offing. The "I am the best" singer has tied up with biggies like Skrillex, Florence and the machine and Diplo.
However, fans of CL's vocal styling will have to wait for another month for her album's release. The singer said that her album would release in October 2015, almost a month later than its original release date.
CL a.k.a Chaelin Lee's representative said that the singer/rapper is working hard on her American debut album. "We're focusing on perfecting the song. Although her album release has been pushed back, you'll be able to see CL's American solo album within this year," Allkpop quoted her rep as saying.
The singer's new album will reveal a different side to CL's musical talents. She has explored different genres and the music resonates with what Nicki Minaj is doing for American audiences, said Diplo.
Fans of the 2NE1 leader can expect music that celebrates hip hop and infuses dub step elements into songs that are crafted with Korean lyrics. So far, CL's "Dr Pepper" has gained positive reviews from fans.
Diplo said that the album has taken it's time because they want to launch CL as the "baddest and coolest" female today, reported Yibada.
In an interview with 99.7 Now, a San Fransico radio station, the singer said that she misses her 2NE1 girls and her fans, whilst working on her album in America.
YG Entertainment's all girl group, 2NE1, is on a hiatus and has not disbanded.
