The Supreme Court granted bail to five company executives who are charged in the 2G spectrum scam after the trial court framed charges against them today.
The corporate honchos Sanjay Chandra of Unitech Wireless, Vinod Goenka of Swan Telecom, Hari Nair, Gautam Doshi and Surendra Pipara of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group were granted bail by the apex court. They have been in the jail since April in connection to 2G scam as lower courts rejected their bail pleas in the past.
The CBI had charge-sheeted 17 people in the 2G scam last month. The accused include A. Raja, Kanimozhi, Sharath Kumar of Kalaignar TV, Asif Balwa and Rajeev Agarwal of Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables, and Bollywood producer Karim Morani besides the five company executives.
