The teaser of Vijay's "Theri" has set a benchmark by amassing a huge number of hits on YouTube and garnering a record number of likes. Now, people are looking forward to see whether the teaser of Suriya's "24" would become a much bigger hit than the video of Ilayathalapathy's film.
After being delayed on a few occasions, the teaser of "Theri" hit the internet with a bang, on February 5. The video went viral among the Tamil audience by getting above 10 lakh hits in just 12 hours and crossed the 20-lakh mark in a day.
It amassed over 50 lakh hits in four days. So far, it has garnered above 91 lakh hits and it is showing all the signs of reaching the magical one-crore mark soon.
More importantly, it has become the most-liked movie teaser in Tamil by getting over 2.75 lakh likes. It has to be seen whether the teaser of "24" will surpass this record.
Before beating the record of "Theri," Suriya-starrer has to beat the teaser record of Ajith's "Yennai Arindhaal," which has garnered close to one lakh likes and about 10,000 dislikes till date. It has got above 54 lakh hits on YouTube.
However, the biggest achievement for "24" will be beating the teaser record of Vikram's "I," which holds the record for the highest number of hits in Kollywood. It had fetched over 1.13 crore hits on YouTube with only 49,000+ likes and 3000+ dislikes till date.
The teaser of "24" will be out Friday, March 4.
The movie stars Suriya, Samantha and Nithya Menen. Vikram Kumar has written and directed the science fiction, which will hit the screens in April.
