The 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards will take place this weekend. The annual award show commemorates the best of cinema and television.
Keeping the critics and audience's favourites in mind, the MTV Awards has a mix of Oscar-nominated movies and box office winners competing in different categories. While you'll see season favourites like Lady Bird and Call Me by Your Name fighting for the award, MTV has also nominated recently released Avengers: Infinity War in one of the categories.
Black Panther leads with seven nominations this year. In television, TV shows like Stranger Things, 13 Reasons Why and more have been nominated. Hollywood star Chris Pratt is set to receive the Generation Award, while actress, writer and producer Lena Waithe will be given the Trailblazer Award for their work in the industry.
