The second-generation Amaze sedan launched by Honda Cars India on May 16 has now witnessed a hike in its price. The Japanese carmaker launched 2018 Amaze with a special introductory price in May while the hike in price makes the sedan premium go up by Rs 20,600 depending upon the variant.
2018 Honda Amaze was priced between Rs 5.59 lakh and Rs 7.99 lakh for petrol when it was launched. The hike has now left the price range between Rs 5.80 lakh and Rs 8.10 lakh, starting August 1. The diesel variants previously priced at Rs 6.69 lakh to Rs 8.99 lakh now costs Rs 6.90 lakh to Rs 9.10 lakh, all prices ex-showroom Delhi.
The price of base variant E (petrol and diesel) has been increased by Rs 20,600 while prices of other variants have been increased by Rs 10,600. We have compiled a variant-wise increase of 2018 Honda Amaze prices, ex-showroom Delhi.

Honda Cars India has been getting an overwhelming response to the new Amaze sedan. In July 2018, the Amaze found 10,180 takers which is the highest monthly sales for a Honda model in India.
Honda has reportedly received over 26,000 bookings so far. Honda Amaze's automatic transmission-equipped variants are now highly on demand. In addition to the petrol and CVT combination, Honda Cars India offers the new Amaze in diesel and CVT option. The New Amaze is the first car in India offered in such a combination. It looks like the combination of diesel and CVT is attracting buyers as nearly one in three Amaze diesel on sale are for CVT variants.
Under the hood, the petrol-powered new Amaze gets a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder engine that creates 89bhp of power and 110 Nm of torque. The diesel engine, on the other hand, is the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that develops 99bhp of peak power and 200 Nm of peak torque. Apart from the CVT, both engines are also offered with 5-speed manual gearbox.
