Audi India has silently launched the RS6 Avant Performance -- a more potent version of the RS6 Avant station wagon -- at Rs 1.65 crore, ex-showroom. The RS6 Avant Performance is identical to the RS Avant that Audi India had launched way back in 2015 while the suffix 'Performance' adds a bit more punch.
While the regular RS6 Avant is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 mill with 560bhp power and 700Nm torque, the same mill develops extra 45bhp and 50Nm of torque with the over-boost function. The mill comes mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission and the power is sent to all four wheels via Audi's Quattro AWD system.
The regular RS6 Avant can accelerate 0-100kph in 3.9 seconds and can go all the way up to a top speed of 304 kmph. Meanwhile, the RS6 Avant Performance takes 0.2 seconds less to attain 100kmph and top speed is at 305kmph. Audi claims that the cylinder deactivation system and start-stop system dramatically reduces fuel consumption and emissions.
Audi has differentiated the RS6 Avant and the Performance version with some subtle additions. The RS6 Avant gets Quattro logo at the air inlet duct and 21-inch aluminium wheels in place of RS6 Avant's 20-inch wheels. Some of the exterior details are in matt titanium look while the Ascari blue, metallic paint finish is exclusive to the Performance version. A sports exhaust, contrasting front splitter and rear diffuser are also part of the package.
Inside the cabin, RS6 Avant Performance gets the RS sport seats in Valcona leather and honeycomb stitching. The seats offer excellent lateral support even in the most spirited of driving situations, according to Audi. In addition, the RS multifunction sport steering wheel with gearshift paddles underlines the sports pedigree of the vehicle.
Audi India continues the sale of regular RS6 Avant version at 1.46 crore, ex-showroom Delhi.
