Swedish car manufacturer Volvo Cars updated its bestselling V40 hatchback and V40 Cross Country in line with the new design language of the company. The updated version comes with new grille meshes and new 'Thor's Hammer' headlights, which we have seen in the new XC90 SUV and the S90 sedan.
The exterior update includes the addition of two new colours, Amazon Blue and Denim Blue, in addition to the currently available Bursting Blue, Mussel Blue and Luminous Sand colours. The new upholstery of the car is christened as City Weave, adding to the Charcoal/Blond steering wheel option. The new interior panel trims offered are Milled Aluminium, Black Grid Aluminium and Stealth Aluminium. New tread plates will be added for the R-Design and Inscription trim levels.
The new Volvo V40 comes with updated Volvo On Call smartphone app that allows remote access and control over a wide range of in-car features when connected to Microsoft Band 2 wearable device. The technology also allows voice-control for certain features when using Windows 10-based smartphones. In its updated form in V40, the app features calendar integration function.
The new Volvo V40 range also features CleanZone technology. This system ensures that outside air is filtered before entering the cabin, removing harmful pollutants. The company will unveil the V40 range for public at the Geneva Motor Show, starting March 3, along with the newly unveiled V90 Wagon. Its India entry can be expected in the festive season of the year.
