Some dealers of Skoda in India have reportedly started accepting bookings for its new Octavia facelift ahead of its possible launch in the country in the third quarter of this year. The Czech carmaker has been testing the Octavia facelift on Indian roads for quite a while now.
Skoda Octavia in its facelifted avatar is expected to get a major makeover at the front. The new Octavia will see split headlight design with optional full LED technology that replaces bi-xenon and LED daytime running lights. While the side profile of the new Octavia will be similar to the outgoing model, the rear will get reworked bumper and taillamp cluster. The facelifted version is also expected to come with newly designed alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, the new Octavia will get updated infotainment system and new instrument cluster with MID. The Octavia may also offer larger 9.2-inch touchscreen display with navigation technologies.
Other features expected in the new Octavia include a customisable key that allows multiple users to save their own vehicle settings, folding tables on the back of the front seats, bottle holders, and a removable torch in the boot.
Under the hood, Octavia will carry over the same engine of the current model. In India, the Octavia gets 1.4 TSI petrol, 1.8 TSI petrol and 2.0 TDI diesel engines. The transmission will be handled by six-speed AT, seven-speed DSG and six-speed manual gearbox. All the engines will be mated to a manual transmission standard, while the dual-clutch DSG automatic will be offered as an option.
