After giving a quick look through a spy shot earlier this month, the new avatar of Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback is back in the headlines. This time, it is for leaked brochure that reveals all the details of the model before its launch next year.
The Suzukiblog has shared the images of the new 2017 Swift hatchback brochure. It gives an exclusive sneak peek into the interior, powertrain and the exterior of the model.
According to the leaked brochure, the new Swift will come in six variants in Japan -- Hybrid RS, RSt, RS, Hybrid, XL and XG. It is expected to come powered by a 1.0 litre turbocharged and 1.2 litre petrol engines and the transmission is likely to be taken care of by a manual and CVT unit.
Coming to India, for now, the new Swift is likely to continue with the 1.2 litre petrol and 1.3 litre diesel engines. However, rumour has it that a 1.0-litre BoosterJet turbo-petrol engine could make it to the new Swift.
As for features, Swift in its new avatar is expected to get LED Daytime Running Lamps, larger air dams and LED tail lamps. Inside the cabin, Swift is expected to get more upmarket interiors with a new infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink compatibility, twin-pod instrument cluster and new flat-bottom steering wheel. In Japan, the new Swift is expected to be offered in eight colour variants.
While the launch of the new Swift is yet to be made public, reports suggest that the global launch is likely in 2017. The hatchback, which has been a runway success in India, will also come to the country at the same time.
