Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to roll out its compact sedan, the Swift Dzire, in new avatar. The county's largest carmaker has released the sketches of the sedan recently. The new Swift Dzire is now confirmed for a May launch.
Though reports have suggested May 25, there is no official word on the exact launch date yet.
"The new Dzire is designed to leave a lasting impression with its rich sculpted side body and enhanced proportions. It is modern, sleek and agile. The unmistakable sedan proportions with low and wide stance lends an elegant road presence to the new Dzire," the company said in a statement.
The new Swift Dzire is expected to get an inside out overhaul. The car has been spied numerous times and some dealers have started accepting the bookings for the model. The updated version is expected to undergo changes at the front and rear, while retaining the overall shape of the current model.
Under the hood, the new Swift Dzire is likely to carry over the same tried and tested 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel mills of the current model. The car will go up against the likes of Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent, Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo and Tata Tigor. With the additional features and the fresh styling, the price of the Swift Dzire is likely to increase by up to Rs 80,000.
