Maruti Suzuki's compact sedan the Swift Dzire is scheduled to be launched in India in its new avatar on May 16. In its latest edition, the sedan will drop the Swift tag from its name. Now ahead of its launch in the country, the new Dzire has started reaching the showrooms of the company and the images of the new compact sedan logged at the dealerships have made its way to the web.
Interestingly, the new images of the 2017 Dzire shows the new body colour of the model. The details of the new Dzire are already out in the public and the only thing that is actually left to be seen is its price tag. The New Dzire, which is based on the company's new HEARTECT platform, is 105 kg lighter than its previous version and is wider by 40mm and comes with a 20mm longer wheelbase.
In its new avatar, the Dzire was in for a complete makeover and sports design and styling changes. At the upfront of the new Dzire sports new grille with chrome surroundings, sweptback projector headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights and new bumper. The rear of the Dzire sees changes such as re-styled tail lamps with LED strip and tweaked bumper. The new Dzire will offer newly designed alloy wheels.
The 2017 Dzire is expected to come with features such as updated touchscreen infotainment system with USB/Aux/Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay connectivity, addition of the rear AC vents and new steering wheel. The Dzire will come in six colour options-- Oxford Blue, Sherwood Brown, Gallant Red, Magma Grey, Silky Silver and Arctic White and it will be offered in Lxi/Ldi, Vxi/Vdi, Zxi/Zdi and Zxi+/Zdi+ variants.
Powering the new Dzire will be the same 85bhp 1.2-litre petrol and the 75bhp 1.3-litre diesel mill paired with five-speed manual and AMT box. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire will continue to rival Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo, Tata Tigor and new Hyundai Xcent in its segment.
