Maruti Suzuki has officially opened the bookings for its soon-to-be-launched new Dzire in India. The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is poised for its launch in the country on May 16. The bookings for the Dzire are open at a down-payment of Rs 11,000.
The new Dzire, which hosts several changes inside out, will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. In its new avatar, Maruti Suzuki's compact sedan has dropped Swift from its badging. Built on the HEARTECT platform, the new Dzire from the country's largest carmaker will also be available with AMT (automated manual transmission), which Maruti calls as AGS (Auto Gear Shift) technology.
There is no change in powertrains. The 85bhp 1.2-litre petrol and the 75bhp 1.3-litre diesel mill will continue as it is and five-speed manual and AMT box will handle the transmission. The new Maruti Suzuki DZire will be available in six different colours, including the new Oxford Blue. Other colours include Sherwood Brown, Gallant Red, Magma Grey, Silky Silver and Arctic White.
To be offered in Lxi/Ldi, Vxi/Vdi, Zxi/Zdi and Zxi+/Zdi+ variants, the new Dzire will now get touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The sedan is now 3,995mm long while 20mm wider and a 40mm shorter in height than the current model in the market. It offers a boot space of 60-litres and the ground clearance has been reduced by 7mm.
The Dzire in its new avatar gets flowy design and features new front fascia with large grille, sweptback projector headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights and new bumper. The changes have also been extended to the rear and the side of the compact sedan and get re-styled tail lamps with LED strip and tweaked bumper. While the cabin of the new Dzire still comes in dual-tone colours, the company has incorporated several changes inside.
On the pricing front, the word around the internet suggest a price tag in the range of Rs. 5.5 to Rs. 9.5 lakh, ex-showroom.
