11.52 a.m.: The launch of the new Dzire is just a few minutes away. Meanwhile, tell us what do you think about the new Dzire?

11.50 a.m.: Maruti Suzuki already unveiled the new Dzire for the media earlier last month, but what we could not get was the pricing. Nonetheless, the company will reveal it shortly at the launch.

11.40 a.m.: The all- new 2017 Dzire will come in three new colours -Sherwood Brown, Oxford Blue and Gallant Red along with the existing Magma Grey, Silky Silver and Arctic White.

11.30 a.m.: The new Dzire petrol claims to offer fuel efficiency of 22kmpl while the diesel is tuned to deliver 28.5kmpl. If this rings true, the new Dzire will be the most fuel efficient diesel offering in the country.

11.20 a.m.: The stage is set for the arrival of the new Dzire. The launch event of 2017 Dzire compact sedan will begin at 12.00 p.m. Stay tuned, more updates coming soon.

11.05 a.m.: The new Dzire is now lighter by 105kg. It weighs 950kg against the 1,055kg of the outgoing model.

10.50 a.m.: Built on the HEARTECT platform, the new Dzire from the country's largest carmaker will also be available with AMT (automated manual transmission) while 5-speed manual gearbox will come as standard.

10.40 a.m.: The new Dzire will get safety features such as dual airbags, ABS, EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchor mounts, seatbelts with pre-tensioners and brake assist as standard.

10.35 a.m.: ZXi+, ZDi+ features

In addition to the features of Z trims, the ZXi+ and ZDi+ will get touchscreen Smartplay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Navigation, reverse parking camera and ED projector headlamps with DRLs.

10.25 a.m.: Features offered in Z trims

Leather-wrapped steering wheel, reverse parking sensors, rear defogger, front fog lamps, start/stop button, automatic climate control and electrically retractable ORVMs.

10.17 a.m.: Features offered in V trim

Chrome accents on the front grille, ORVM mounted turn indicators, body coloured door handles and ORVMs. Other features include faux wood and chrome inserts in the cabin, 2-DIN audio system with USB, CD, AUX, FM/AM and Bluetooth connectivity, steering wheel mounted audio buttons, keyless entry, rear AC vents, rear seat armrest, height adjustable driver seat and electrically adjustable ORVMs.

10.16 a.m.: The new 2017 Dzire will be offered in four trims--LXi/LDi, VXi/VDi, ZXi/ZDi and ZXi+/ZDi+.

10.12 a.m.: While the petrol will churn out 82bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 4,200rpm, the diesel models will generate 74bhp at 4,000rpm and 190Nm at 2,000rpm.

10.10 a.m.: According to the leaked brochures, the new Dzire will come in two engine options-- 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol and 1.3-litre, four-cylinder diesel.

10.04a.m.: Now hours ahead of the new Dzire launch in the country, the official brochures of the model has been leaked online.

Decks have been cleared for the arrival of Maruti Suzuki's popular compact sedan, the Swift Dzire in its new avatar. Auto lovers in the country will, for the first time, welcome the model as 'Dzire' at its launch on May 16, with the carmaker dropping 'Swift' from its badge.

Maruti Suzuki has opened the bookings for the new Dzire for a down payment of Rs. 11,000 and the first lot of the new version of the compact sedan has started making its way to the dealerships across the country.
