Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM, which is co-owned by Bajaj Auto, unveiled the 2017 390 Duke at the EICMA show in November. The company has now released a video of the new 390 Duke explaining more details of the street fighter model.
The video shows a rider taking 390 Duke through twisted hillside roads as well as in the city highlighting Ride-by-Wire and riding modes of the new version. The video also underlines corner carving capability of the new 390 Duke and its prowess in quick direction shifts.
The video also details more menacing looks of the street fighter. Visual updates in the 390 Duke are crispier and closer to the bigger sibling, the 1290 Super Duke. The most notable change up front in the new 390 Duke is the split headlight with LED inserts. The fuel tank has been reworked and tank extensions are now long, overlapping the USD forks. The key slot has been moved from the instrument cluster to the front of fuel tank.
The pillion grab rail is now integrated to the faring just behind the rider's seat. The new 390 Duke also features a full-size exhaust in place of quirky underbelly exhaust. The motorcycle also comes with new colour scheme highlighted with KTM's signature orange colour. Additionally, the new 390 Duke flaunts a ride-by-wire throttle, full TFT dashboard, and an optional MY RIDE multimedia interface.
The motorcycle is powered by the same 373.2cc, single-cylinder engine that develops 44bhp of power. Braking comes from 320mm front brake disc, gripped by a Brembo-developed By-Bre branded caliper while ABS comes as standard.
The India launch of the motorcycle has been linked in January. However, emerging reports indicate that deliveries will start from April. In the meantime, KTM will launch the new 390 Duke in European markets.
