Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki has unveiled Z1000 R edition, a more tech and equipment carrying version of the 1000cc street-fighter motorcycle. The new version has been introduced with the 2017 line-up of motorcycles of Kawasaki.
The Z1000 R boasts of high-spec stainless steel hose braided Brembo M50 radial-mounted calipers on 310mm floating front discs. ABS braking system is offered as standard. The R edition also boasts of Ohlins S46DR1S rear shock with a remote pre-load adjuster and revised fork settings that will lend more refined and responsive handling according to the company. Additionally, the Z1000 R features an adjustable shift-up light which illuminates the rev counter.
Visually, the 2017 Z1000 R and the regular Z1000 look similar barring a new Metallic Graphite Gray color scheme in addition to the Metallic Spark Black. It also gets new graphics with yellow-green accents and 'Z 'logo-embossed on the seat.
The company has not divulged new power figures of the 2017 Z1000. The motorcycle will be powered by the same in-line 4-cyl 1043cc, liquid-cooled engine. The mill in the current Z1000 develops 140bhp and 111Nm of torque while the 2017 models are expected to get slightly increased numbers.
2017 Z1000 and Z1000 R streetfighters will be officially unveiled at EICMA in Milan, Italy in November and it will go on sale in January 2017 in the global markets. The regular Z1000 will be offered with Golden Blazed Green as well as Candy Burnt Orange and Flat Ebony colour schemes.
