India Kawasaki Motors launched 2017 Ninja ZX-10R on Friday, 23 September. Deliveries of the motorcycle have been scheduled from the third week of October 2016. The ZX10R has been a world championship-winning motorcycle at the World Superbike Championships in 2013 and 2015. It currently leads the 2016 championship standings.
The ZX10R features many technologies borrowed from (WSBK) Kawasaki Racing team such as WSBK-derived Showa suspension, Kawasaki Engine Braking Control (KEBC), Kawasaki Launch Control Model (KLCM), Kawasaki Intelligent Braking System, (KIBS), a new 5-mode traction control system, corner management function and Kawasaki's Quick Shifter (KQS).
The motorcycle is powered by in-line four cylinder 998cc liquid cooled engine that develops 197bhp at 13,000rpm and 113.5Nm of torque at 11,500rpm mated to six-speed transmission. Based on twin spar, cast aluminium frame, the motorcycle comes with a kerb weight of 204kg.
The ZX-10R measures 2,090mm in length, 745mm in width and 1,145mm in height and a wheelbase of 1,440mm. The motorcycle features 145mm ground clearance and 17-litres of fuel tank capacity.
The motorcycle is employed with 43mm inverted front fork, while the rear gets Horizontal Back-link with BFRC-lite gascharged suspension. Stopping power comes from Brembo 330mm dual disc with four-piston callipers at front and single 220mm semi-floating petal disc at rear.
