Swedish car-maker Volvo is all set to launch the S60 Cross Country in India in as early as March, emerging reports suggest. The S60 Cross Country is the company's first offering in India in 2016.
A report in OverDrive claims that the new Volvo S60 Cross Country, which is based on the company's S60 sedan, will come to the Indian market on March 11. The S60 Cross Country was first unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show last year.
The car comes with all-wheel drive (AWD) and two-wheel drive versions. In terms of dimensions, 4,638mm in length, 1899mm in width and 1,539mm in height. It gets an increased ride height of 65mm and is expected to be offered with 2.4-litre D4 engine that makes 188bhp at 4,250rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1,750 to 2,500 rpm.
Transmission will be taken care of by 6-speed automatic gearbox. In India, 2016 Volvo S60 Cross Country could also get 2.4litre 5-cylinder diesel engine that makes around 174bhp at 4,000rpm and 420Nm of torque at 1,500rpm to 3,000rpm.
On the safety front, Volvo S60 Cross Country will pack Antilock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Electronic Brake Assistance (EBA) and Hill Descent Control (HDC).
