TVS is kick starting 2016 with two motorcycle launches on 20 January (Wednesday). The Chennai based manufacturer will launch the Apache RTR 200 4V and the Victor commuter motorcycle on Wednesday and ahead of the launch, TVS launched a dedicated website for the Victor brand.
The website teases rear fairing of the new Victor with the brand name written in new style. The Victor was first launched in India in 2001 and the motorcycle was considered as the most successful motorcycle of the company. It was also the first motorcycle built by TVS on its own. With the arrival of newer models in the line-up, TVS discontinued Victor brand from the domestic market.
The new Victor falls in the entry level commuter segment and is expected to employ 110cc engine with new updates. TVS is expected to employ the same 110cc engine in the Star City+ range to the new Victor. The 110cc engine develops 8.3bhp at 7000rpm and 8.7Nm of torque at 5000rpm mated to four-speed transmission. Being a commuter model, a fuel efficiency of more than 75kmpl can be expected.
TVS Motor currently holds a market share of 17% in the commuter motorcycle segment. The re-launch of Victor will further enhance its share in the commuter segment, which is usually the volume selling segment in two-wheeler market.
