Toyota Motor Corporation unveiled the new generation Fortuner SUV in 2015 and is expected in India later this year or early next year. For 2016, the Japanese manufacturer revealed the sporty version, Fortuner TRD Sportivo, in Thailand.
The Fortuner TRD Sportivo is available with Attitude Black Mica and White Perl shades in which the latter comes with black roof shade. On the exterior, the TRD Sportivo features smoked chrome front grille. The front and the rear bumpers have been reworked adding sporty design. The sporty version flaunts 20-inch alloy wheels in dark shade, scuff plates with TRD logo, steel exhaust pipe and electrically powered boot.
The interior is spruced up with JBL premium audio sound system with 11 speakers. The push start/stop button, Kevlar smart key, black and red coloured leather seats, TRD Sportivo badges carpets, DVD player with seven inch touch screen and instrument cluster with red illumination light carries the sportiness of the exterior to inside the cabin.
The Fortuner TRD Sportivo is powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine that develops 174bhp at 3,400rpm and 450Nm of torque in the range of 1,600 to 2,400rpm mated to six-speed automatic transmission. Being an SUV, the new model comes with four-wheel drive system called Sigma 4. The SUV also has all four wheels attached to disc brakes.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor currently sells the TRD Sportivo version with last generation Fortuner in India. The new Sportivo version can also be expected after the market launch of the new generation Fortuner in India.
