French auto-maker Renault launched its much-awaited Duster facelift in India on Wednesday, March 3, with a price tag starting at Rs 8.46 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new Duster facelift will be available for bookings across dealerships of the company starting March 3.
Customers can also book the new Duster through the Renault DUSTER App, which is available in the Google Play Store. The new Duster, which made its debut at the Auto Expo 2016 in February, is offered in both the petrol and diesel engine options.
The vehicle with manual transmission is available in five trim levels – Standard, RXE, RXL, RXS and RXZ. While the petrol base variant of the new Duster is priced at Rs 8.46 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the top of the line AWD (4x4) variant is offered at an introductory price of Rs 13.56 (ex-showroom Delhi). The new Duster, which comes with 6 speed Easy-R Automated Manual Transmission, claims to deliver a mileage of 19.72 kmpl (ARAI).
"Over the years, Duster has firmly etched Renault on India's automotive map and has achieved a cult status. With the new 6 speed Easy-R Automated Manual Transmission and several technical and design enhancements offered at a compelling price, we are confident that the New Duster will lead our expansion plans in India and strengthen our position in the compact SUV segment," said Sumit Sawhney, country CEO and managing director, Renault India operations, in a statement.
As for changes in the facelifted avatar of the Duster, the SUV gets re-styled front and rear fascia and features electrically adjustable OVRMs with turn indicators, LED tail lamps, new head lamp cluster, roof rails and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The company has also introduced a new Cayenne orange exterior colour in the Duster SUV colour palette besides the existing colour options. Other features include a rear-view camera with guidelines, automatic air conditioning, new auto-up/down window with anti-pinch and media navigation.
Inside the cabin, the new Duster is spruced up with Crimson-black interior theme for the AWD version and Cedarwood-black interior for all other variants with dual-tone dashboard. On the safety front, the new Duster comes equipped with a rear-view camera, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, dual airbags, ESP and Hill Start Assist.
