It looks like the arrival of Toyota's much-awaited new-gen Innova MPV to India's biggest auto carnival — Auto Expo 2016 — has almost been confirmed, as emerging reports suggest the model will be one of the main attractions of the Toyota Pavilion.
A report on Autocar India says Toyota's new Innova, which is on sale in Indonesia, will be headed to the Auto Expo in Greater Noida. Auto-lovers in the country have been waiting for this new Innova since its launch in the Indonesian market. After its debut at the Auto Expo, the Innova is likely to be launched in the domestic market by March this year.
For starters, the new Innova measures 4,735mm in length, 1,830mm in width, and 1,795mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750mm. The braking duties of the MPV are done by disc brakes up front and drum brakes in the rear, employed in 215/55 R17 tyres.
Regarding the under-the-hood treatment, the new Innova comes with a GD 2.4-litre diesel engine that develops 147bhp at 3,400rpm and 359Nm of torque at 1,200-2,800rpm, and an in-line four-cylinder 2,000cc VVT-i petrol engine developing 137bhp and 183Nm of torque. Both are available with manual and automatic transmission.
Expected to be launched in three variants in India, the new Innova comes has TFT display for Q and V variants, eight-inch touchscreen with a web browser, HDMI, Bluetooth, smartphone integration and voice command, all-auto window buttons, cooled glove box, console box and cup holders on its feature list.
In India, the new Innova is expected to get price tag of around Rs 13.70 lakh.
