Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd (JLRIL) launched its flagship luxury saloon, the 2016 Jaguar XJ with prices starting from Rs 98.03 lakh (ex-showroom, pre-octroi in Mumbai). The updated model is available in three variants — 2.0-litre petrol Portfolio priced at Rs 99.23 lakh, 3.0-litre diesel Premium luxury priced at Rs 98.03 lakh and 3.0-litre diesel portfolio at Rs 1.05 crore, all prices ex-showroom, Mumbai.
For the 2016 model update, Jaguar equipped the XJ with full-LED headlights and double "J-blade signature" daytime running lights. The front grill is more upright now. In the rear, new elliptical tailpipes, a revised bumper design and new tail lights incorporating LED technology are the major changes.
The new XJ flaunts features such as 360-degree park distance control with surround camera system, park assist, all surface progress control (ASPC), deployable rear-seat entertainment system with 25.90cm HD screens, infotainment system InControl Touch Pro, 31.24cm instrument panel display, quilted soft-grain leather perforated seats, panoramic glass roof and navigation system.
The new Jaguar XJ offers a choice of 237bhp turbocharged petrol engine and 296bhp turbocharged diesel engine. The new uprated Jaguar 3.0-litre 296bhp turbocharged diesel engine requires minimum 6.2 seconds to reach 100kmph from standstill, with 700 Nm of torque, while the 2.0-litre 237bhp turbocharged petrol engine achieves 0-100kmph speed in 7.9 seconds with 340 Nm of torque.
