Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India on Tuesday, May 3, launched the new 2016 Dio in India. The new Dio has been priced at Rs. 48,264 (ex-showroom, Delhi), same as that of the current model. Honda recently marked the sales of over a million units of the 110cc scooter Dio since its launch.
Launched first in 2002, the Dio is also exported to international markets and is the company's top export model. The Dio is exported to markets like Colombia, South Mexico Sri Lanka and Nepal. Talking about the changes in the new Dio, the company added new body shade – matt axis grey – in its colour palette and is also available in four existing colours – jazzy blue metallic, candy palm green, sports red and black. The new model also gets 3D emblem.
It continues to be powered by the same 109.2 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which can churn out 8bhp of power at 7,000rpm and 8.77Nm of torque at 5,500rpm paired to a V-Matic transmission. The scooter claims to offer a mileage of 65kmpl and can hit a top-speed of 83 kmph.
In terms of dimension, the Dio measures 1781mm in length, 710mm in width, 1133mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1238mm.
