It is probably one of the worst kept secrets that the Amaze compact sedan from the house of Honda is getting ready for a makeover in the country. The latest buzz on the web is that Honda Amaze's new avatar -- the Amaze facelift -- is all set to hit Indian roads in early March.
GaadiWaadi has shared a new set of spy shots of the Amaze facelift, showing the model in its completely revealed avatar. The report also says that the Amaze facelift will be launched in India on March 3.
Although Honda Amaze, the first model of Honda India to come equipped with a diesel engine, had a tremendous journey in the domestic market, the intensifying competition and the lack of major upgrade have dented the sales of the compact sedan Amaze. It looks like Honda is looking to fill this gap with the new Amaze facelift.
From the images, the car seems to have got major changes in the front fascia with new bumper and front grille. The rear and side profiles of the Amaze are also expected to accommodate changes in the facelifted model.
Inside the cabin, from what we hear, Honda Amaze facelift is speculated to get the new Mobilio-like interior. The add-ons are likely to be a touchscreen entertainment system with integrated reverse-camera display, rectangular air-con vents and automatic climate control.
Under the hood, the Amaze is expected to pack the same 1,198cc i-VTEC petrol and 1,498cc i-DTEC diesel engines. The four-cylinder 1,198cc i-VTEC petrol develops 86.7bhp at 6,000rpm and 109Nm of torque at 4,500rpm available with five-speed manual and automatic transmission options. The four-cylinder 1,498cc i-DTEC diesel engine develops 99bhp at 3,600rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm mated to five-speed manual transmission.
In India, the Amaze rivals Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Tata Zest and Ford Figo Aspire.
