Honda is all set to announce the launch of the facelifted avatar of the Amaze compact sedan in India Thursday, March 3. The new Amaze facelift will flaunt changes both inside and outside.
Honda Amaze, the compact sedan, which has done remarkably well in the Indian auto market, lost its charm to the newcomers in its segment recently. With the new Amaze facelift, Honda hopes to recoup the diminishing charm of the model in the domestic auto market.
In the new avatar, mechanically, the Amaze is likely to remain the same as the current model and is expected to be powered by a 1,198cc i-VTEC petrol and a1,498cc i-DTEC diesel engines. The four-cylinder 1,198cc i-VTEC petrol develops 86.7bhp at 6,000rpm and 109Nm of torque at 4,500rpm available with five-speed manual and automatic transmission options. The four-cylinder 1,498cc i-DTEC diesel engine develops 99bhp at 3,600rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm mated to five-speed manual transmission.
From the spy shots of the new Amaze facelift that have been doing the rounds on the Internet, the front and rear sides of the model are likely to accommodate major cosmetic changes, including a new bumper front grille and newly-designed tail lamps. The interior of the Amaze facelift is also likely to include changes like an all new dashboard derived from the BR-V SUV, touchscreen entertainment system, automatic climate control and 2-DIN music system.
To be pitted against Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Tata Zest and Ford Figo Aspire, the new Amaze is likely to be offered in Majestic Blue Metallic, Taffeta White, Carnelian Red Pearl, Urban Titanium Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic and Alabaster Silver Metallic colours. Honda is expected to begin the delivery of the Amaze facelift immediately after the launch and the sedan has started arriving at the dealers.
